A Penny For A Joke?

Last night was awesome! I'm going to start this entry with that sentence. I have been officially unemployed for close to 2 months (on the 27th it will be 2) So my well of $$dinero$$ is running dry --it really was not that full to begin with. Anywhoo, I have been working odd jobs and what not's to make some money in the meantime to pay for my bills. Last night My friend Hansen asked me to host a comedy show and I was all for it - I figure more practice stage time and i can get better. I have been doing comedy i guess i would say a total of 6 months, and i love every disastrous minute of it. I am trying to get a couple new open mic's going so I can get more stage time and do something valuable with my wasted time. Anyhow last night's comedy show was weak, there was barely anyone there but i kept energy up and i was goofin off on stage having a great time, I got a few laughs but it was pretty tough for us considering it's usually like that at most open mics. The end of the night comes around and Misty the bar manager hands me a white envelope with a neatly printed and correctly spelled name on it. I got paid for telling jokes!!! FUCK YEAH! I actually got paid for telling jokes, and if feels sooo amazing considering i do really need every penny i can get. One day it will completely pay off, in the meantime these little pennies here and there for my jokes really make it worthwhile and i feel appreciated. Last night was great I wrote 2 good new jokes, hosted a comedy shows with some friends, got paid, and had a chocolate chip milkshake with the love of my life. Sometimes i don't feel like such a giant loser.
